Criterion is finally coming to blu-ray this fall. They had always said that they would wait for the hd-wars to end before they committed to a format and now it's finally happened. I hope they'll be able to dip into their older releases and give them a blu debut but, rights and licensing being what they are, who knows if its possible or feasible.

As a fan of film noir, it's nice to see The Third Man on this initial list. I had been holding out, for some reason, on buying this on DVD but now my reticence has born fruit. Give me blu versions of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Naked Lunch and I'll be a happy, happy man.
